The problem

A local trade business loses jobs for one reason more than any other: nobody picked up. The plumber is under a sink, the arborist is up a tree, and the caller has already dialled the next result. Answering services cost real money per month and read from a script that annoys the caller.

The second problem is that these businesses cannot rank. They are competing against national aggregators with enormous domain authority who will happily sell their lead back to them.

The approach

Build the asset first. Each site covers one trade across the metro with service pages and service-area pages written for how people actually search, delivered as static HTML so it loads instantly and can be crawled without executing JavaScript.

Then put an AI voice agent behind the phone number. It answers every call, holds a real conversation, takes the details, and emails a full transcript within seconds of hanging up. Storm work does not arrive during business hours, which is the whole point.

Decisions

One trade per domain

A single site covering five trades ranks for none of them. Separate domains let each one be unambiguous about what it is, which is most of local search. It also means one site's problems cannot take down another's.

Separate sending credentials per site

Sharing one email-sending identity across a network is convenient right up to the moment one site trips a spam filter and the whole network's mail stops arriving. Each site sends as itself.

Rank first, rent second

The model only works in that order. Building an asset that ranks and then renting the phone number to the contractor who can do the work means the contractor pays for leads that already exist, rather than paying for a promise.
